20+ Years Ago

The Beginning

Our founder and CEO, Mitsuru Izumo, traveled to Bangladesh and witnessed severe malnutrition. Seeking a solution, he discovered Euglena microalgae as the answer.

2005

Euglena Co., Ltd. Founded

Founded under the mission to "Make People and the Planet Healthy" through the power of Euglena.

2012

Food-Focused Business Launch

Launched "Euglena Farm," expanding into health foods and nutritional supplements featuring Euglena-based products through our e-commerce platform.

2015

Japan Venture Award Prime Minister's Prize

Received the highest honor, the Prime Minister's Prize, from the first Japan Venture Award ceremony, recognizing our innovation and social impact.

2019

World's First ASC-MSC Seaweed Certification

Ishigaki Euglena and Yaeyama Chlorella became the first microalgae products worldwide to receive ASC-MSC certification for sustainable sourcing.

2021

Japan SDGs Award Prime Minister's Prize

Recognized for our commitment to sustainable development, including the "Euglena GENKI Program" in Bangladesh, receiving the Prime Minister's Prize.

2024

Sustainable Logistics Achievement

Partnered with Sagawa Express to launch Japan's first "Sustainable Delivery Project," reducing CO₂ emissions through next-generation biodiesel fuel.
